Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 15, 2026  |  Data Controller: ZUG Estates, Vevey, Canton Vaud, Switzerland

ZUG Estates ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights as a data subject.

Data We Collect

We collect two categories of data when you use our website:

Automatically Collected Data: When you visit zugestates.com, our servers and third-party analytics services automatically collect your IP address (anonymized where technically feasible), browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited and time spent on each page, device type (desktop, mobile, tablet), approximate geographic location derived from IP address, and cookie identifiers. This data is collected through standard web server logs and analytics tracking scripts.

Voluntarily Provided Data: If you submit a message through our contact form, subscribe to our newsletter, or correspond with us by email, we collect the information you provide, typically including your name, email address, subject line, message content, and any attachments you include.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to operate and improve our website, analyze traffic patterns and user behavior to enhance content quality, serve relevant advertisements through our advertising partners, respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form, comply with legal obligations under Swiss and applicable international law, and protect the security and integrity of our website.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

ZUG Estates uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to enable website functionality, remember your preferences (such as cookie consent choices), and support our advertising and analytics services. We use both first-party cookies (set by zugestates.com) and third-party cookies (set by our partners, including Google).

Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized data about page views, session duration, bounce rates, and user demographics. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Google AdSense: We use Google AdSense to serve advertisements on our website. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other websites. You can learn more about how Google uses data from partner sites at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage your ad personalization preferences at Google Ads Settings.

When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your preference is stored locally and the banner will not reappear on subsequent visits unless you clear your browser data.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the GDPR and Swiss FADP: the right to access your personal data and receive a copy, the right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data, the right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") of your personal data under certain circumstances, the right to restrict processing of your data, the right to data portability (receiving your data in a structured, machine-readable format), the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing, and the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@zugestates.com. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.

Your Rights Under CCPA

If you are a California resident, the CCPA provides you with the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell, the right to delete personal information we hold about you (subject to certain exceptions), the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (ZUG Estates does not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights. To submit a CCPA request, contact us at privacy@zugestates.com.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share data only with Google (Analytics and AdSense) for website analytics and advertising services, hosting providers that operate our web servers under contractual data processing agreements, and law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by applicable law. All third-party service providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and use it only for the purposes specified by us.

Data Retention

We retain automatically collected data (server logs, analytics data) for a maximum of 26 months. Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months unless a longer retention period is required for ongoing correspondence or legal compliance. Cookie consent preferences are stored locally on your device and persist until you clear your browser data.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside Switzerland and the EEA, including the United States (through Google's services). Where such transfers occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel, regular security reviews of our hosting infrastructure, and secure storage of any voluntarily provided personal information.

Children's Privacy

ZUG Estates is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy regularly. Material changes will be communicated through a prominent notice on our website.
